Tuesday, 20th September, saw the first of 3 Asian Cup Legacy Fund Grant Writing Workshops kick off at Valentine Sports Park.
The workshop saw a number of clubs and associations across Sydney attend the session which was jointly presented by Football NSW and the Office of Sport.
The free workshop provided clubs/associations/zones with some great information which included; steps involved in planning and preparing for a grant, how to write a grant application, what’s important when writing a grant application with tips and examples, the do’s and don’ts of grant writing plus much, much more.
The NSW Asian Cup 2015 Legacy Fund aims to improve football facilities for a variety of benefits including increasing participation, improving safety and security, assisting in building stronger communities through football and improving the overall football experience for all stakeholders.
The legacy fund opened on Monday 5th September 2016 and is opened for 6 months with a closing date of Friday 24th February 2017.
The Asian Cup Legacy fund is a fantastic opportunity for clubs/associations/zones across NSW to improve their facilities i.e. renewing/upgrading floodlighting, upgrading amenity buildings, field renovations, and plenty more.
The Legacy Fund may fund up to 50% of the net project costs, with a maximum funding contribution of $150,000 per project. The minimum amount an applicant can apply for is $50,000.
Applicants must provide matching funding for the project, funding can be sourced from multiple areas this includes: local, state or federal funding, other grants, club/association/zones own funds, contributions of voluntary labour, etc. For example, if club applies for $50,000 from the Legacy Fund the club must be able to provide at least $50,000 in matching funding for a minimum project value of $100,000.
