As the 2022 winter season draws closer to kick off, football administrators from across NSW came together for the second grants webinar in the series with The Grants Guy.
The Grants Guy, Keith Whelan delivered the grants webinar to clubs in a one hour in depth session on the who, what, where, why and how of grant writing.
Grants are a key ingredient for sporting clubs across the state, they play an important part in developing and improving a club’s infrastructure.
Mr Whelan provided detailed information on the Multi-Sport Community Fund that is currently open with the NSW Office of Sport.
“Grant writing is a tedious task for all clubs across the state, hopefully Keith’s webinar has provided some clarity for them”.
“The webinar highlighted the importance of planning and preparing for a grant application well before a grant was even made available,” said Football NSW’s Manager – Government Relations, Funding and Infrastructure, Daniel Ristic
Football NSW has tried to make the grant application process as easy as possible with a Football Facility Project Plan.
“This template will allow clubs to collect data and information on their specific infrastructure project well in advance of a grant submission.
“By completing the Club Facility Project Plan clubs will have the bulk of most grant applications written and documentation collated, saving the club valuable time when a grant officially opens”.
The Grants Guy wrapped up the session by providing his top tips for grant writing for participants, advising the participants to answer the question, make it clear, and give great examples to make your application stand out.
The session finished wrapped up with some question and answers from the participants.
Clubs applying for the Multi-Sport Community Fund should contact Daniel as soon as possible to obtain a letter of support for their project if they are making an application before the closing date of Friday 25 February, 1pm via email danielr@footballfacilities.com.au.
